So, I had a few people weigh in on my foot pain and I gave it all a lot of thought. Am I not connected to my spiritual self? Is something bothering me related to my foot? unrelated to my foot? Did I eat something weird? Did I step on a toy? Did I injure it some other way?
I got x-rays. Not broken. phew. relief. still hurt. bummer.
At least with the x-rays I felt confident to abuse it more with massage and U/S, etc. I did that. It was getting better. i actually barely noticed it over the weekend. Then today I decided I was going to 1)go back to the gym and 2) return to the office to finish the taxes after the workout. Pain in my foot started setting in about an hour after this plan. Coincidence? I think not. So i was off to figure out which was the problem. I figured it was likely the taxes...they are a pain in the butt so why not the foot. Well, I decided that really I just needed to do the taxes and shouldn't do anything else until they were finished (ala kelly's punishment of the week to study and no play or pierogies :()....foot pain gone.
So, it's the gym. I know that makes no logical sense since I didn't actually hurt it there. So, what's the beef? I need to think on this more. for now, I'm not in pain and happy.

Mostly a good day
It never seems I can say that fully these days. But really today was great. We all were rested after a great night's sleep. We tidied around the house. Then we went for an outing to the library and noone fought, we nicely picked out some books to read (I think Griffin is finally getting the hang of this library thing-I blame the construction as the cause of his delay ;)). Then back home for Paisley's naptime (mostly easy with a few snags). More tidying, a few visitors, a little outdoor time even, cooking dinner, children ate with little fuss....off to bathtime with no arguments! Paisley even let me get her dressed without a fight afterwards.....
THEN
the poop. Griffin pooped in the tub. From what I can tell somewhat on purpose. I am gathering he thought it might be fun but soon discovered that it was not. He just kept saying, "it sinked", referring to the poop sinking to the bottom. I'm not sure why it sinking distrubed him as opposed to it floating, but whatever. It was gross and did NOT make me happy. ha.
they are both in bed. I am at the office working on catch up. A good day overall.

Just Mark and Kelly
Griffin didn't want to put clothes on after his bath last night. Go figure. The kid freaking loves naked time. Lee told him that guests were coming so he needed to get dressed. He asked, "who's coming?" Which usually comes out, "What are coming?" Lee told him that Uncle Mark and Kelly were coming over for the evening. Griffin said, "just mark and kelly. I not get dressed." Haha. I guess they no longer qualify as company, just family, no need for clothes. I heard Lee further explain that we would all have clothes on because he didn't want to see Uncle Mark naked and Uncle Mark didn't want to see daddy Lee naked. Griffin said, "nope, just Mark and kelly." No tricking him, clothes are optional. We did prevail and he was half dressed (bottoms) by the time of their arrival.
Running...
as in that is what I have been doing. Vacation is always followed by a lot of running to get caught up. ugh, why is that? Thankfully P has slept a bit better the last two nights and I have gotten some SLEEP!!!!!!! yahoo. Last night I was also able to escape to mosaic which is my monthly lifesaver. I just love it so very much :) Glad it's back for the time being...
Thursday, yesterday, was the first day off of the week so we did some errands and then met up with friends for an impromptu...it turned into several hours of just being together at their house and it was LOVELY. I so enjoy that the kids gets along, for the most part, and we can resolved easily the issues that do arise. It makes for such a peaceful visit and the adults can actually converse. I am blessed!
Tonight is pizza night and then I am off in the a.m. for Buffalo to meet the newest baby in my life :) I hope the drive is easy!

No sleep or exercise
makes for a crabby mommy. So maybe in part my post yesterday was due to piss poor sleep since returning from vacation. Maybe I'm just tired. That doesn't excuse my behavior but explains it a bit to me. Of course today is a new day and was another bad night's sleep :( so I'm not really more rested but I'm trying to be in a better place. I also was so tired that for the first time in 9 weeks I didn't go exercise monday night. This made me so very sad and I had planned to just pick up and go the next morning since I had an extra day away from the kids but then the "incident" with G happened and I just didn't feel like it. I will get back to it though...don't you worry.
Happy with Griffin:
So to share the good too here is a story. Last night Lee had a meeting so I was single parenting for bedtime. This usually goes alright but sometimes proves to be the most difficult hour of the day. Last night was about a 5 :) Anyhow, Griffin asked to look at bo-bots on the little t.v. in mommy allison and lee's room (yes, Lee no longer gets a title and yes he is talking about transformers and yes he is talking about a computer and not really a little t.v.). So, I had to put Paisley to bed so I set him up and told him I would return shortly. He said, "I can do it." I had to go so I just left it as such that he would most likely terrorize the computer and possibly screw it up but c'est la vie. Anyhow, I return to him perfectly clicking the mouse to view the various robots. I even taught him to use the back button :) I cannot believe how grown up my little boy has become. wow!

Parenting classes?
There are some free in my community and I would go in a heartbeat if Lee would come with me. I really feel like I need it. I guess I'm not afraid of going alone but it would be great to be on the same page...I want to learn how to better help eachother to be better parents. I try in the ways I already know but then I don't exactly feel supported in the ways I need to improve. Lee is really really patient. He rarely loses his cool. I want to become better at that.
I had another bad morning experience with Griffin and it's got me in a terrible place in my mind :( I just feel awful about what I said to him and that I pushed him into his carseat. He was punching me, coughing in my face, and when I simply (and gently) covered his mouth he licked my hand. I just lost it and pushed him back into the seat so I could get him buckled. He immediately stopped and started to cry. It was just awful awful awful. I want to take it back more than anything. Ugh. Shitey shite shite. I know in the grand scheme I don't remember any bad moments like that from my parents and from the stories I was not an easy child all the time so there were likely those moments but I still feel like I stole a bit of his innocence this morning :( I apologized after since that was all I could do and he stopped crying and now he is off at daycare playing with his friends.
I just feel lost. Not in life, just in the direction of my parenting. I know from many I've spoken to that means I'm on the right track because I'm thinking about it and trying to improve but I really am uncertain which direction I want to follow. I want him to be a kid, enjoy life while it is still simple...I don't want to push him into anything he doesn't want to do so that he can live without fears as long as possible. I want to be gentle in discipline and yet have structure. I want to remain calm as often as possible. I just want to be better than this morning...waaay better.

Home again, Home again....
and my patience lasted about 108 hours literally....then I lost it. I said something I totally regret and Griffin made note of it :( He told me, "I only love Daddy." Boo. I apologized and explained and told him I loved him and he said, "I said I only love Daddy." Well, we are fine now but man, I wish I could have pulled out a few more hours of patience and avoided then entire situation.
The trip was GREAT! The kids did awesome through the few hurdles and we all just had a blast visiting. The weather was awesome too!! We visited the rodeo stockyards on saturday, we celebrated grandpa's birthday on friday night, we went downtown to the Mexican shopping area on Thursday, and we ate ate ATE! all weekend long. It was a wonderful trip and long overdue seeing my godparents :) Thanks for having us June and Big Man (Fran)!

Off to Texas
Tomorrow a.m. we are off to Texas. I say we as in Me and 2 children under the age of 4. God help me! I know realistically it will be fine but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous and worried about the entire trip. I am thrilled to be going as well but yes, very anxious. Alas, I have sooo much to do before then so I should get off this computer and get to work...
