Lilypie First Birthday tickers

Tonight Lee and I played the name game. We just keep adding names and taking others off. I guess this is the "fun phase" but man, I really just want to know the gender so we can at least eliminate half the list. With Griffin we couldn't decide on more than 5 names ever to even put on the maybe list so deciding didn't seem nearly as hard. We did find some great ones this evening and our boy list is "firming up"...down to 5 strong contenders. We will let the other side ferment for awhile.

In other news, work is going well. I am up 75% of my charges and collections from this time last year. I think that is pretty darn great especially considering february just bit it hard. I am patting myself on the back this evening :)

gotta get to bed. Fatigue is improved but still haunting. My bloodwork came back ALL NORMAL. That's good, I guess.

Griffin has been fighting actually going to bed/nap but then falls asleep quickly. He says constantly, "wait wait". I have tried to see if he wants to actually do something else because I'm all for child-led parenting (at least most of the time) but usually he just wants to go downstairs and be crabby or demanding (both signs he's tired). Lee is so strong and just says, "put him to bed." He has shifted closer to 8 p.m. the last few weeks and closer to 1 p.m. for naps. We are both fine with that...when 2nd baby comes that may proove to be more difficult but we will manage. Besides, this next child will sleep like a dream, right? ha.

The weekend was nice. My dad and I went to Costco and Target on sunday a.m., then he headed off to paint paint paint. We snagged him back for dinner-grilled burgers, steak, potatoes, and fruit salad. It was delish! Then yesterday lee, griffin, and I went to the zoo. It was such a nice day and we stayed just long enough to avoid the heat of the day. My dad painted the day away and met back up with us for dinner again-spaghetti feast! Once again yummo! Can you tell I"ve hit that "I can eat all the time phase"? ha.

Baby Wahl has arrived and all are doing well so congrats to them.

Today was a good day overall...my head didn't hurt too much, I got to work early and worked in the quiet before patients (I kind of liked that and will miss it once #2 arrives). Griffin was in a great mood, napped well, cuddled after his bath with me on the couch, and then went off to bed like a dream. He really is a great kiddo.

well, here is my most recent belly shot. Not sure it's much different than a few weeks ago but some maternity clothes are starting to fit so I can tell things are changing.

Wow, I've been sleeping a LOT but then again not at all! Ha. The last two nights I've stayed up pretty late-was at Lisa's on friday night for girls night-and last night just stayed up with Lee and dad talking and then playing on the net. Thankfully Griffin has been great and allowed us to sleep in a bit both days :) Gotta love my kid at times-ha.

I have felt pretty good also the last few days. I have some sinus pressure in my head and neck but that seems manageable with tylenol-even though I HATE taking it. I will also get adjusted today and that should feel better.

I"m off to tidy the kitchen...lee did last night but there are still dishes everywhere...I must work on his idea of "tidy". Another day.....

Still tired but I did sleep better last night. It was super hot. Lee had offered to put the AC units in this past weekend and I refused b/c I miss the cool air coming in from the windows...I think I was wrong. There was no cool air, we were just plain HOT! Even with a fan...oh well. Damn window units. I've definitely been feeling babe moving around in there more and more but it is still random. So, I'll feel it and then wait to feel it again to validate that YES indeed I did just feel him/her but then nothing...few more weeks. I also managed to find something to wear today that doesn't make me feel frumpy and/or make me look that way as well :) (pants from H&M so maybe I will make a stop there for a few "bigger" sizes this weekend).

well, my only complaint today is my right low back is killing. I am due for an adjustment tomorrow and I had a very busy day today so I'm sure that is the explanation. I will go for that adjustment and do some massage on it later today.

Griffin is acting more normal as well as of last night. He didn't eat at daycare until he woke from his 4 hour nap!! Yes, 4 hours! Then he had a banana and some juice. When we got home he ate watermelon, cheese, and many crackers...then he asked for fish sticks which he did not eat and a smoothie which he did not really drink. This a.m. he drank 2 smoothies and ate 1/2 a waffle. So, I think he' s feeling better. That's good because there is seriously nothing more pathetic than sick Griffin. He just sits there and doesn't smile much. It's quite sad.

His big thing the past week is to say everything is stuck. So if he's in his high chair and wants out it's, "baby stuck" or "mommy stuck". If a package wont' open for him it's "stuck". I try to explain to him that not everything is stuck but that somethings are meant to prevent him from opening :) He just smiles and says, "stuck".

soooo freaking tired! I need to get my blood work done just to assure myself this isn't from low iron or something. I am sure it is from my inability to fall asleep at night---grrrr! I am so tired during the day and then 10 p.m. hits and AWAKE! It is just awful. I was able to fall asleep last night but I know I was awake at least 4 times during the night....not a great night's sleep.

G is acting punky the past two days. We sent him to daycare and told her to call if he was really acting poorly. I guess Lee will come home as I have a busy couple days. Friday isn't as busy but I have a few things "I" need to get done including some paperwork around the office.

Well, just wanted to check in. Also, to track my weight. It has been fluctuating so much that I'm not even sure what to put. I was up to 133 on my scale which was an 11 lb. gain, then 137 which was 15 lb. gain! YIKES...now past two days I'm down to 126 which is only 4 lb. gain. All on the same scale...very odd. Lee's weight has been consistent so I'm not sure if this involves water shifting or bloat from constipation? It's very odd...I"m just going to say at 14 weeks, about 7 lb. gain.

Interesting possibilities afloat. Mike asked me today if I ever considered renting space and then said, "we should talk more." My mind is a flutter with the idea and how it work, would it be better, worse than my situation now, would I be able to make enough money to make us happy? So many questions. I have a feeling I know what my father would say already, "don't do it." I already spoke with lee about it and he is happy with the prospect which already makes me happy. Hmmmm, is all I can say.....

Lee and I went to our Colleen appointment today and heard our babe's heartbeat again. This time he/she wasn't as cooperative and nearly gave me a heart attack, luckily Lee was calm as calm could be :) I have been dead tired today to the point we all overslept this a.m. and I seriously could just put my head down and fall asleep. What is with that? Well, just wanted to update the baby news. In the 140s this week, btw.

We also received our req. for our Big U/S which is soooo exciting. It will be somewhere around July 1st or 2nd. Maybe he/she will cooperate and we will be able to see the "junk" as lee likes to say. lol.

Griffin was once again great today. Jennifer said he put everyone in a good mood today because he was so cheery. It's so nice to know they like him so much there. He's quite likable I know but I kind of consider myself bias :) I brought him home and we played, he ate (grazed) and now is having a bath with Lee. They are counting toes. Griffin says, "two, two, two, two, two...five toes" hahahaha.

I wanted to share two stories about Griffin from this week, one in my presence and one shared by the sitter, Aunt Lisa. So, Lisa watches Griffin on tues/thurs and they were out for a walk in the wagon last week. He made it all the way to the end of Ramona (our street) before he wanted to "escape". She decided that they would head back home with him walking. Well, apparently he stopped at almost every single tree, hugged it, and said, "Tree".....hahahahaha. She told me the story and said, "aw, my little tree hugger."

The second was from sunday. Lee went out for Wendy's lunch/dinner (linner) while Griffin was still napping. The only thing still sitting out when G woke was the soda pop container. He immediately (before we could stop him) picked it up and took a big swig. He then laughed, touched his lips like the bubbles tickled, and ran around in a circle like a maniac for a few minutes....as if to say, "man, that caffeine sure has a kick"....we were dying laughing.

This is my 12w5d belly shot...it's coming along...

and for comparision 4w3d with this babe :)
So, yesterday was a much better day than saturday. I don't know what was up with my emotions/hormones on saturday but I just felt awful and bitchy. I think I adequately apologized to Lee-he seems to have forgiven me and we've made some plans to get together for budget discussion, marketing goals, etc. I think that will be really helpful for us to finally accomplish. In the meantime we have been working on cleaning up the house. It is actually starting to look organized which is sort of scary in a way :) The dirt still piles up but we have Liza every other week for that help and if we keep on top of the clutter, ie. everything has a place so freaking put it there, I think we can live in this house for a few more years easily. Less than a month now until G is in fulltime daycare and although I NEED to work hard before this 2nd kid gets here so FT is crucial to that scenario I know I'm going to miss that little bugger. I really am not going to see a lot of him. Maybe that will be good for my appreciation of my growing son, I hope so! We have really been having fun together although today after nap was a bit trying on my patience...maybe Griffin or maybe a friend that was over but I was reaching my boiling point quickly. Thankfully I did not and all was calmed.

I don't know why the bit of doubt is settling in again about this pregnancy. I heard the heartbeat not even a week ago but I haven't consistently felt the kiddo in there so now I"m doubting again....thankfully I have an appt. on wednesday with Colleen and Lee plans to attend. We'll hear the heartbeat again and then only a few more weeks of paranoia before I will be consistently feeling this little one move. I am hoping to get a date for our big US too on wednesday!

well, gotta go work on a patient. I'm here on a monday evening...I keep asking myself why? Oh well, I need the $35 I guess :)

Why am I so darn irritable? I feel sad too. It is very annoying and I think Lee is going to look back on this pregnancy and think, "man the only good part was making the kid." That makes me even sadder. I need to try to just remain calm and realize it is most likely just nerves, hormones, etc. We had a very good last two days. Griffin has been in such a great mood for the past two days. He has been smiley and huggy and just loving on both of us which makes you feel like a total rock star! :) This a.m. I worked for a few hours and got a lot done around there and then came home and I think I was just tired b/c I got really crabby. Then I realized I wanted to go to costco but Lee and Griffin were being SLOW and that was annoying me. I had this nagging feeling all day I was forgetting something and guess what! I was....I completely forgot to go to my patients viewing of the Mothering Manifesto which further made me feel like crap. Man, for a good day it sure stunk. Here's hoping tomorrow is brighter :)

Still tired today. Griffin slept well I think even though I heard him through the night. He woke in a very good mood and stayed that way even when I dropped him at Jennifer's house. I have a busy a.m. until 1:30 and I know I can do it but I don't want to do another damn thing after that. I really should though. I am catching up with April's claims and I should really finish it off. And don't even get me started on the kitchen! ha....it's a disaster zone. Well, after having a chai this a.m. I am feeling perkier, we'll see how long that lasts-ha!

Juniors install dinner last night....was able to share with a few more people that I"m preggo which was fun. Noone really cares though...I'm still torn about that group in general.

Thursday, May 10, 2007

ugggh, I'm tired. Griffin finally slept from 7-7 last night. We had some really rough, early mornings over the weekend and then yesterday at 6:15 a.m. I hope he makes it to 12 noon for a nap today :) I passed out last night from exhaustion but I'm still tired this a.m. I don't know why but I can't wait until the 2nd trimester "energy boost". I can see/feel it coming in bursts already but man, i want like 3 months of constant energy-ha. Lee is driving me crazy too with his lack of energy. I think he is staying up later to get some alone time away from his crazy, irrational, irritable wife and cranky son but he is DRAAAAGGING in the a.m. and I might have to kill him soon. Just kidding.

I'm really just concerned that something is wrong with him: stressed more than he's admitting, depressed, or something else. He's not great at identifying these things himself so I'm trying to help him. I suggested he try going to bed earlier for a few nights and see if he can "catch up". He worked out last night for 10 minutes--yeah! I want to encourage him to get back into it...I know it will be the key to his successful weight loss. I can see the disappointment with him regarding the lack of weight loss with this go around with the cleanse...but he isn't working out this time either. It really takes both with his metabolism. We have been a lot more active though in general and I think that has been great for him in keeping off the weight. He's had minimal yo-yoing which is awesome for a newbie losing weight.

well, off to do a little bit of work. I'm sooo unmotivated today.

Houston we have a heartbeat :) I'm so happy. I saw Pam today for the first time and it was wonderful as always. Actually it was better than I remember it-ha. We talked a lot about what has happened the first 12 weeks, decided on a due date 11/21/07, and then listened to the heartbeat and felt my uterus. She said I was measuring larger (16 weeks) but that wasn't a problem. She heard the baby move as I felt it so I AM feeling him/her and then we heard that strong heartbeat. It was just too exciting. This has all around been so different than with Griffin but I'm enjoying it thoroughly for what it is. I think I appreciate it more since I know what is to come and Lee is just so cute about it too (since he knows what is to come). I think we are way more excited this turn at parenthood which is COOL!
