Cracking Up

So, apparently I just have to blog about poop to get you guys "talking" again. haha. I'm laughing so much at the variety of comments, it's a hoot. Another blow out today, will I ever learn? I just sat there again, letting her poop. Seriously, I'm just lazy I think.

Big girl is now 13 lb. 6 oz. That is 5 oz. since friday!! I swear she'll be an adult before summer at this rate :) She is finding her hands these days and prefers them to the pacifier which is good and bad. Good because they don't "fall out", bad because they also wake her up. lol. She's still a sweet sweet girl.

My boy is still sweet as well but it's been a little tougher to remember that these days....he's definitely found his will! He has also picked up this "please please please, please momma, please" thing with his little hands pressed together and sad eyes looking up at me. I want to say to him, "Are you for real?" So funny and not at the same time. He has been waking a lot at night too and also yelling out at night even if he doesn't wake. Last night I forgot to put the gate up by his door I guess because at some point very late/early he came running into our room, pushed the chair to the bed, climbed into bed, pulled the covers up and went to sleep. He kept me awake for a bit yelling out but I'm not certain he was ever really awake. sleepwalking? I don't know. I must have dozed back off because the next thing I knew Lee was arguing with him in the hallway. He had woken up, gone downstairs, started playing, turned the t.v. on, gotten himself some crackers, and was making a rucous at 3:45 a.m. Lee had to fight with him and put him back to bed. As I said, it's been difficult to remember he's still sweet these days.

well, off to rest a little before picking him up. I announced to his sitter today that he shall not return. I am in discussion with another sitter. Why do I feel anxious? It's awful and it won't even happen for months from now...I need to get better at change. I am also anxious over money and this brings that to the forefront as it will be more money for a little less time but I really think great quality. Ah, life.....

Blow Outs

So, I'm pretty sure every mom has been there. The poop that you hear across the room and you just know it didn't stay in the diaper. It's those poops that make me understand the people that speak of cutting onsies off their kid to avoid poo on the head. It's also those poops that make me ponder "catching poop", ie. ECing with Paisley. She is quite predictable that I could probably catch nearly every one. Hmmm, will have to give thought to that. My intention would be purely from a less mess for me standpoint and NOT from a teaching her to poop in the potty on her own at 2 months old. I know people who believe that but it's one idea I still can't take under my wing ;), catching them....maybe....

Catch up a little...

So, I've been a little MIA. I came down with mastitis on friday evening, or that is what I think I had. I had flu-like symptoms literally out of nowhere followed by breast tenderness. Normally it is the other way around but it just seemed too much like it to be something else. In addition since my body was "down" my cold turned into a headcold. It was a crappy weekend for all to say the least.

Today is day 6 of no dairy and Paisley actually seems to be doing well with it. She hasn't spit up at all since friday night. Well, a tiny bit but no bibs and she is burping without coming everywhere. I think since friday night we have actually had two times we've needed the burp cloth. THIS is major improvement. It's bumming me out though that it might be the dairy...I'll work though it but man, I'm going to miss it a lot....Lee thinks she's happier. I find that hard to see since she is generally a happy babe anyhow. I do think she has a little bit of the "under the weather" though because she hasn't slept as well over the weekend, right when I needed to sleep, go figure.

I am feeling so very behind at work but I just keep trying to plug forward and realize that I will catch up one day. One day after the next, right? I have a very good promising lead on daycare which has me thrilled. I really hope it works out and will keep y'all posted. It would be with a momma from my AP board who is just lovely as is her house, I just know the kidlets would be well cared for....

gotta go rest more.

Chunky Monkey

Ped appt. today for Miss P's 2 month check up. She is 13 lbs. 1 oz (95%), 23 in. (75-90%) and the doctor said she is just as sweet as can be, very engaging for her age, and adorable. She also highly doubts it is a milk sensitivity but suggested I give her another week (total of 10 days) to see if there is an improvement. So far we're still going the opposite direction....lol.

Couple rough kids days....

Griffin is recovering from a cold or has one or something...he hasn't really been sick but his voice is rough and raspy, he gets coughing while sleeping at night, his nose runs during the day, and his cheeks are chapped from him rubbing the snot onto them. Poor kiddo...I guess that is why he is acting "off". He's just been a bit wild and unruly. It could be the above or it could be his age. One never knows, right?

Why is Miss P spitting up more since yesterday morning (when I gave up dairy)? I know it takes time for the diary to leave my body but seriously?!? more spitting since stopping? maybe it's something else...Uggh, it is so frustrating to me. At least it is almost 8 p.m. which is G's bedtime and P is already asleep for the night in her swing. I am tired and cranky to say the least. I have a few things I really want to do tonight though and a couple I just need to do.

I will survive!

cooking up a storm....

well, not really but I have done some and am planning more. I cooked a chicken, a whole one, last week. We ate two meals from that. Then I made stock, used some of the chicken leftovers, carrots and celery from inside the chicken, and egg noodles to make awesome (if I do say so myself) chicken noodle soup which we ate for 2 dinners and I had for lunch today. We also still have some breast meat left over for making chicken salad for tonight's dinner. Wow! I'm going to do this again since chickens are BOGO at the eagle this week :)

I also made a roast which we ate for several meals, then I froze some of the meat, sliced thinly and am going to make philly steak wraps for dinner one night soon. The roast was BOGO last week so with the other one I am going to crock pot it with taco seasoning, shred it up, make taco salads for dinner one night, then make a batch of our chimichilatas!!! YUMMO...going to have to make some of them without cheese but that's ok, still great and delicious.

About to go toast some almonds....

I am on day 2 of dairy free. It's going alright and I am just plugging through any temptations kind of like an addict. I am taking inspiration from a story my grandmother told me this past weekend....no need to start over after 7 years clean, right GG?

later gators....

Hallucinations

I must be really losing it. I checked on my blog today to see if anyone had commented on apparently an imaginary post. WTF? Did I dream that I posted this long post about my weekend or did I write it in my head (sometimes I write pretend letters to people in my head to work out what I want to say to people but that is for another post) or am I seriously losing it? geez. Scary.

Anyhow, I"m tired. I'm feeling a little frazzled and frantic. I"m feeling a little bit anxious. But you know what I'm actually doing much better than a few weeks ago. Shit just keeps hitting the fan and I just keep trying to plug forward. I have goals, I have two beautiful kids, I have a wonderful handsome husband, we have a great house that is ours, I have a thriving business, blah blah blah, I am grateful and just need to keep living.

I've also been enjoying making some new friends. Am I making any sense? Yeah, I didn't think so. I swear I'm not drunk or on drugs. lol. good night.

Hold on, wait a second.....

No road trip....first flight instead! Anyhow, I was packed, pulled out of my driveway, heading towards 71 and returned my aunt's phone call. I guess bad weather was heading right for PA where I would be driving. Bad news and really really making me confused about what to do. Then, wait, she had good news too! A flight and a car!! for a great price....so, we leave in the a.m. and will meet up with my sister and drive to CT. Plans are still the same for the rest of the time, stay over on friday night in CT, then back to NYC for the night before our flights on sunday midday. Whew...now if my nerves can recover before this evening I can even celebrate with my 30 year old hubby :)

Road trip!

So, Paisley and I are heading to New Jersey tomorrow and then Connecticut on friday. It will be a long day but I am optimistic for it going well :) (please lord let it go well). ha.

I'll report details of trip afterwards. Wake if friday, funeral is saturday. It will be nice to see some old faces, of course never fun under these circumstances, but as I learned a long time ago (from my nun principal) funerals really are CELEBRATIONS! Tears of joy should be shed and the life of Dewitt should be shared. I hope to do that. And eat some Wendy's since that's always where he liked to take me. lol.

later....

Just Stuff

Today was an insane day. Lots of working. Tamara was around too and it's just so exciting these days with her and hard for me to concentrate because I just want to talk about babies :) Then a friend called who is 29 weeks pregnant and she was admitted to the hospital for a possible kidney stone. I cooked a chicken (which I've never done before). Then I visited friend from above in hospital. Before I left though my father called to say my grandfather had died. I say this in passing not because I didn't love him but because at this point it really did just fall into my day. Part of the sequence....that seems to be life right now.

Everything is so crazy and so it seems I can barely comprehend or process what has happened. Dewitt Keen has died. What a great man. I have some great memories and I wish I had persued more. That is enough for now, more later.

good night.

Cute Mug

Photobucket

I couldn't resist posting this picture from this weekend. She is actually laughing these days. She finds Lee especially funny. Ha ha.

Catching up...

I think I finally feel a bit 'caught up' since the holidays. I still haven't written the thank yous and I still haven't gotten our "holiday/birth announcement" out but my goal for those is 2/1/08. Why are things like that so difficult? That is my first goal and then taxes by 3/1/08. I think I can make both.

I spent too much money at the grocery store yesterday. I want food in the house that we will all eat so we aren't tempted to go out. I guess that is good but damn, food is expensive. I feel like I'm always buying it too. Grrrr. I made a roast today. We ate it for dinner, then leftovers tomorrow night. Then we have two more meals that i plan to make philly cheesesteak sandwiches with the meat. Lee seemed excited about that idea which made me happy since he isn't usually thrilled with my cooking ideas. Well, it's usuallyl because I'm trying to get him to eat better or because he has a legitimate better idea. Oh well...cheesesteak peaked his interest.

I'm going to roast a whole chicken tomorrow. I hope to eat some of the meat, make some chicken salad with some, and then make chicken noodle soup with the carcass. I'm psyched. Of course that means a trip back to the store. I forgot egg noodles and mushrooms. Shucks, I'm not perfect.

gotta get to bed. It's way too late.

No title

I am brain dead, I can't even think of a title for this post. Maybe it should have been "brain dead". Anyhow, I think I've hit a wall. I'm so tired. I am doing too much I'm sure but I cannot, just cannot live in chaos. It drives me insane. Plus it makes me have nervous energy which then makes me more insane. Uggh, I know this is just a wall and won't last forever but I need to get past it....the wall, that is.

I'm tired, I'm stressed about money, I'm missing Lee since he is still on the couch, I'm feeling touched out, I'm feeling like I don't care about anyone else's problems because I'm too tired to think, did I mention I'm tired? ha. This too shall pass and that is the beauty of the 2nd child, you know that, but man, I'm clinging here.

Paisley is really smiling these days and laughing some too. These are the positives. She's such a great baby too. Griffin has been fun as well although really pushing Lee's buttons. He manages to be pretty great for me when I have him alone (maybe he knows i can't handle more) but when Lee is home, he is WILD! I tackled my first outing with both kiddos last week--the grocery store...we all survivied.

gotta go get Mr. man....later.

Rolling Rolling

So, my babe is growing too fast I've determined. She is no longer just a blob...now she is a rolling blob. It's only happened three times but two of them were today. She has gone from her back to her tummy. No more leaving unattended. Doesn't this seem early? Maybe it will hold true what they say about boys vs. girls in this house. hmmmm.

Griffin has been a crack up. He is adding words to his vocab. daily. This week we've heard "Giant Egg", "Whirlwind" for tornado, and a myriad of other lengthy sentances. His intelligibility is still difficult but I think it's improving weekly as well. Today at daycare apparently he was pointing out everything in the book they were reading. She turned the page and he yelled, "A bell A bell A bell". She said, "I guess I didn't pay attention to him quickly enough because then he started running around in a circle waving his finger back and forth like a bell and said, 'ding ding ding a bell a bell a bell'." I was cracking up. When he described whirlwind to us we didn't understand so he acted it out by doing twirls and making whooshing noises. He's a smart one, eh? I'm enjoying watching him develop and learn...it's so cool.
