Showered

My sister in law and friend threw me an incredible shower yesterday. There were incredible decorations (including balloon flowers from a patient), a Mexican spread (and I mean spread), games, favors (little tissue paper flowers with seed packets inside), all (or most) of my amazing ladies in my life, and some generous presents! We really are ready mow to welcome this baby into our lives.

The only down of yesterday is my swelling increased some, my blood pressure was up for part of the day and I felt "off" with some dizziness. Thankfully after some rest I was able to get all of it to subside. Ut it proves to me I really am going to have to take it easier. Ugh.

Daydreaming

Of what day you will arrive. It is such a fascinating process towards the end of pregnancy. Will it be tomorrow or next week or three weeks from now? I know it is silly to actually request a particular day but I am honed in on two....march 8th and march 16th. The reason behind these dates are the real silly Part. You see, Wednesday's are very busy at work so I would like to go into labor after that day. In fact my neuroses about this reaches into Tuesday being the WORST day for me to go into labor...

Then there is that old saying...."Monday's child is....."

Which leads me to I was born on a Sunday (Bonny and blithe, good and gay), griffin was born on friday (loving and giving), and paisley was born on a Wednesday (full of woe). Not sure any of those applies to each of us too much but in that poem Tuesday is good (full of grace) and Thursday (has far to go) is decent.....so maybe I should get over my Wednesday thing, eh?

Anyhow, I dream of how this will all unfold and how your labor day will be. Time will tell but I am enjoying thinking about it.

37 weeks-term

It is so strange how each pregnancy has been a different experience of patience. With griffin by this point I was so overly excited to meet my baby that I could barely focus on anything other than the baby. With paisley I was anxious to be done and just wanted to not be uncomfortable. This time around I am still feeling quite patient....I am excited to meet the baby and know the gender and snuggle a new squish but I am also happy to wait. At this point it could happen at any point....that is still the same as the other two pregnancies.....nerve wrecking! I wish I just knew when and then I could even wait as long as needed.

Anyhow baby chuck come when you are ready because we are ready for you anytime between now and the next five weeks.

A lot accomplished

Not only did we finish our list we did a lot more. We took stuff to the dump, painted hallway/stairway/trim, finished tile on mantle project, laundry mountain, some sewing projects, cleaning of soooo much including windows, fans, kitchen top to bottom, kids room, and basement, got lots ready for baby, played lots with kids and even had many meals together to have quality time together. I am whipped but soooo happy to have so much done. Oh and lots of cooking for freezer.

Left on my list: clean bathroom/bedroom, laundry for baby, gather last minute birth supplies.

People are Scared of the Pregnant Woman

Haha. I swear i am now getting the funniest looks from people when I am walking around in public. Some of them border on sympathetic but mostly they all just look terrified that I am up and walking around. People! I have time still and I am not staying home for your sake. ha.

It is cracking me up mostly and I am tempted to fain pain so that they will all really get freaked out. That is probably not very nice though, right?

Projects next weekend

My parents are coming to town so I have started the lists! One of the items is this project for the baby.....

http://pennycarnival.typepad.com/penny_carnival/2009/02/tutorial-hanging-book-display.html

We found great fabric today-yay!

Other projects on the list include: make food for freezer (chili, chicken soups, enchiladas, beef stew, and pasta sauce), finish tile (if we can find tile-grrrrrr), make some burp cloths with this very girlie fabric but I don't care, momma wants them, paint woodwork in living room, clean ceiling fans and other woodwork that likely won't be touched for awhile, and organize basement a bit again since that won't be touched for awhile.

That should be enough....lol

35 weeks

I have been reading through this time frame from paisley's pregnancy and it is amazing some of the similarities....I am sure if I had tracked griffins better the trend would continue. It makes me feel good though because it eases my worry for a possible earlier than desired delivery. I know it is still possible but not probable. My body knows this baby should cook a bit longer and my life needs that too!

Symptoms this week now include: swollen feet by end of day, Braxton hicks all through the day randomly, indigestion at moments, waddling, and very vivid dreams. I am actually feeling really really well though the past two days even with those symptoms. I am not sure if it is just perspective since I am recovering from the stomach flu or if it is just a break since I am recovering from the stomach flu. Baby is still head down and LOW. I think this makes me look like I am carrying smaller than I really am but I have also wondered if maybe I have not gained as much weight (haven't actually checked the weight tho).

My fill in fir maternity leave was in again today and got hands on with some patients. She is really great with them. I am hoping it goes well. I know I cannot be replaced but it feels good knowing I will be leaving the place in excellent hands. I am sure I will still be a nervous wreck.

Speaking of nervous wrecks I shifted my labor worries to babysitter worries last night. I adore and trust Justine so it isn't her I am worried about but more the ins and outs of caring for an infant. I would consider myself slightly particular and in bizarre unpredictable ways. After discussing my worries with a few people it was made clear that 1) people like Justine want to care for an infant so I just need to be clear on my wishes and 2) I will be around Justine and the baby for several weeks so there will be time to talk to her especially once I know my baby better. Great advice!

Justine was sick with the bug today so I had the kids at work, paisley during the day and griffin after school. They did so great! Paisley drew, played games, watched a show, made a collage, made a card for Justine, and played with her pet shop toys. Then she went with auntie Lisa for a bit to her house to do chores....she got her nails painted too. Griffin stayed and played ds for three hours!!?, he was in 7th heaven! Then lee showed up to pick them up and they lost their little baby minds :).

Ok, off to sleep....
