Avoiding Adulthood
Sometimes I just feel like I don't deserve the title "adult". Ever have those days? I mean, I own a house, a business, I have one kid, growing another.....but I had a moment today where I just wanted to ignore being responsible and NOT be adult. That moment occurred when I was using the public restroom at my office :) I used the last of the toilet paper on the roll. I personally didn't need anymore so there was no real reason other than pure adult behavior to refill it. Honestly I thought about not. Does that make me NOT adult? ha. I suppose not but it made me long for childhood for even a split second. lol. that's the end of my rant....off to be adult and finish my work so I can get home and find something to feed myself. later.

Baby Name Poll
It's official we have decided on names. I can only think of one other person aside from me and Lee that "knows" and might vote, so you keep quiet! But here is the official poll so you all can attempt to sway us. These are the lists we have been debating for some time now. The decisions are amongst them...can you peak inside our heads? hahahaahahahahaha.

Filth
no, I"m not talking about my own house although before yesterday I often used this word to describe our house. No longer....
we went for a bbq at my BIL friend's new house. Andy invited us all over including Griffin to see his house and have dinner. He even included my in-laws. At any rate the first problem was that he has 2 dogs who SHIT in the backyard. I know, novel idea, NOT.....but who invites people over for a backyard shindig and doesn't even attempt to clean up some of the poop. Hence my 2 y.o. was running through shit piles, sometimes narrowly missing them and most of the time hitting them dead on there were so many. It was foul!
I had enough of this and was hot after about 30 minutes so I took G man inside. It was what I imagine a crack dealers house to look like. And we were "visiting"-dear God. Anyhow, G man ran around and we all ate (out of one bowl/plate thingie might I add). The guys played some Wii and then thank the lord Lee wanted to leave as well. We all went home and showered. G man had a very long bubble bath.
I just cannot believe someone lives like this and either is proud of it or so ignorant to it that they don't know it's NOT ok to invite a 2 y.o. and pregnant woman over. I feel sad for him honestly. THe house needs a lot of work but it could be cute. Geez. I do know I used to hang out with people like this and although I want to think they've grown up and no longer live that way, through the grapevine that is NOT what I"ve heard. How gross?
hand sanitizer anyone?

TGIF for sure!
The last work day of the week has arrived, thank goodness. I think we have all been crabby this week. I have felt emotionally/hormonally more stable but over-tired and just ragged. Lee has had to work extra and has had additional stress at work so he's not feeling overly energetic or cheery. And G man, not sure what's going on there, but he's just been sort of mopey everyday. A lot of forward rolled shoulders and pouty lip. Very odd! Maybe it's the fact that every day this week we have woken up to rain. We need it badly for the grass but it is a little dreary to wake that way every single day.
So, Mark and Kelly arrive today or tomorrow. Lee is going to happy hour tonight. He gets his haircut tomorrow. Brunch with his fam. at Westwood on Sunday. Easy weekend but somehow I"m sure we'll "fill it" :) I hope we can relax some. I've already planned to nap tomorrow during G's nap. Even if it is only an hour or two. I just need to do that for myself.
off to do some paperwork. I have this dreaded ACN phone call later today. Uggggh. I want to believe it won't be too bad but I know deep down it probably will be torturous. Yucky ins. people...they work for the devil I think.

Thursday....
I know, lame title but I am not feeling very creative. Lee says that Griffin looks ethiopian in that bottom picture. Seriously, I thought it was cute! Oh well. He did like the middle one. I know it wasn't an attack on my picture taking abilities but it hurt my feelings. I am so damn sensitive these days. Anyhow, sleep was better even still last night. I've been really good about taking my magnesium morning and night and I think it is helping. No cramps, not as much muscle aching, and shoulder pain is subsiding. thank goodness.
Griffin woke this a.m. saying to Lee, "I am not a baby." Lee thinks this means he is ready for a big boy bed. He might be right but I am certainly not ready. I like my sleep and planned to enjoy it for the next few months before this bambino steals it again :( Anyhow, we are in debates over this. My uncle has offered us one of their old twin beds, mattress, box spring, and wooden frame. I'm sure it is simple but nice knowing them...and i know they probably kept it in prime condition. So, now we just have to get it here! I told Lee if he arranged for that I was game to go for the switch. I know in reality it is probably best to do this now vs. later but I'm still going to miss my sleep. Ha.
I gave Griffin a bubble bath last night. He LOVED it. He just kept saying bubbles, bubbles, bubbles. It was so cute. He is a smart boy and has figured out how to turn on the water. He has also discovered that the hot is too hot (he says this) and so he only turns on the cold. Ha. I guess that's good but it's hard to actually give him a bath these days due to him wanting the cold water on the entire time...he comes out a cold shivering thing. lol.

Hump Day
This week has been long. Last night was a better nights sleep I suppose but I must have still been tossing a bunch because my body is sooo achey today. Could be the weather though too. Anyhow, happy hump day. Nothing new to report. Just tired, still pregnant (ha), taking care of the fam and patients, went to the grocery store today. Aaaah, the life.
later.

Birth Dream
So, I have been sleeping poorly. I am hoping it's just a phase and not the beginning of not sleeping for many months. Uggh. Anyhow, last night I had my first dream about this birth that I remember. It was not scary, not bad but the baby DID arrive before the midwife came. In fact, the baby came so quickly noone had time to call the midwife. Then after baby had arrived and was safe, healthy, etc. we all decided to just NOT call Pam and sit around for a few hours. We also didn't check the gender for several hours. It was all very bizarre. Noone clocked the time of the birth either which upset me. Ha. I sure hope I have another short and sweet birth but I do hope Pam can get there for it!
It's raining today which has the pressure in the air thick...hence my head is KILLING!

and for comparision....G's preggo belly at 24 weeks
Almost 23 week belly shot with #2

We are getting close on a name as well. We have narrowed down to 3 close contenders for a girl and have our boys name. I promise a decision soon so we can do our Norris baby #2 naming poll. I"m sooo excited to see what you guys think.
Well, desperate for sleep tonight....did not sleep well at all last night. Lee didn't either and poor guy is still at work. stinks but that is me tomorrow night.

Sleeping In
It's almost 9 a.m. and I've only been awake for 10 minutes and Lee is still sleeping. G slept in even though we pushed him past his bedtime (usually this works against a good night's sleep). I think his little body is finally figuring out it should sleep until he is rested, not just until 7 a.m. :)
Anyhow, we went to the Felders for a bbq yesterday with the Likavecs. The kids played great , the food was awesome (G didn't want to eat a thing though so he got crabby and manic), then we went to the playground. G kept Lee running which had me laughing (but not too hard as I didn't want to him to get mad).
All in all I think it was pretty successful. G was crazy because he hadn't eaten a proper meal. I don't know what the deal is...I think we really need to work on that. The other kiddos were great and ate, sitting with us at the table. Oh well....I suppose to work on G I need to work on my husband. We have become sooooo bad at eating in front of the t.v. It's not even that we have become since it's been this way for a loooooong time. I really think it's time to break the habit though.
It's another beautiful day...we have plenty of yard work to do so we'll be outside most of the day. It should be nice.

The Last Extravaganza
We went to the Harry Potter Celebration in Hudson, OH last night. It was pretty cool seeing all the people sooooo excited about something and dressed up to celebrate. It was a freaking disaster getting there due to traffic, fussy mommy, fussy child, and HUNGRY people. But all in all we are glad we went. Griffin does surprisingly well in crowds, but he does NOT want to be confined so it's difficult to track him always. He's a duck and tuck kind of kid through the crowds which is very difficult for Lee but I'm great at that so I just kept following him through them. Out in the crazy area I put Lee to work to chase him :)
One thing was very evident to us though after this experience. Around 9 p.m. we decided our family had had enough and I absolutely needed food. We left the group and went on our merry way. Lee got Griffin in the car while I grabbed a snack for everyone at McD's (healthy, right? :)) Anyhow, we get all in the car and proceed home. Griffin was so calm, eating his nuggets, just happy with us and quiet the entire way home. It made us realize that we SHOULD do things with him and not be afraid to do so but we probably need to just go as a family instead of with other families, too crazy. Anyhow, it was great to be out with him and he went to bed smoothly and slept through to this a.m. at 7:30 (sleeping in - ha!).
I'm finishing up work this a.m. and then we are going over to the Felders new house with the Likavecs for an impromptu cook out.

A conversation with my child :)
I was at the computer, Lee had gone downstairs. Griffin came up to me:
"Where's my momma?"
I said, "I'm your momma."
Him, "Oh." he thought for a second, then "where's my dadda?"
I said, "He went downstairs."
Him, "Oh. tank you."
and he headed down to get lee......or so I thought. Then he came back to me and said, "come momma". He pulled me to his room to play trucks. lol. I guess I was closer and would do. ha.

Pink Gift
So, my parents sent me a pink footless sleeper sack. I"m cracking up. Not only is it pink (I"m not opposed to putting an infant boy in pink) it says "little girl" on it! ha. They attached a note that said something along the lines of "you see we chose pink. we are that confident" funny stuff man!
anyhow, another long day but a good one. We are "resolving" some daycare issues for next year. I think I"m pretty happy with the solution chosen. Now to find a nanny. Ultimately I think this new plan is going to give me all that I desire-lol. Time with my family, time for my patients.
gotta get to bed. It's later than I need to be awake.

A DEAL

Just scored one of these seriously like new $10 for the new baby. I think I will use it at the office but maybe at home. who knows but I"m sure it will come in handy. What a great deal! Thanks Mary for inviting me to the pre-moving sale.
Today was another busy day but a decent one. I am still feeling a little yuk and down from yesterday but better overall. Rash is a little better too but still not gone and still itchy.
Griffin was cute today. I miss that bugger when I work. I guess his "mondays" are disappearing too. Just in time for hump day. This weekend I have to work, it's my normally scheduled saturday. I have no clue who is scheduled because when my calendar crashed I lost that date. I know some people are on there and I remember it started at 9 a.m. So???? It shall be interesting.
ok, off to rest, veg, and EAT!

Now I have a case of the Mondays....but it's Tuesday :(
Just having one of those days where things annoy me I guess. People, things, whatever. I hate days like this because it seems the events and/or situations pile on themselves. I WANT to change my tune and feel better. Maybe after patients start later I will feel better. Yuck.
UPDATE: It's amazing what a little adrenaline or endorphins will do for you. I worked on patients and had some great success, good visits. I feel WORLDS better in mood. Now off to home and to watch Big Brother and Big Love with my Lovely Husband. :)

Do you have a case of the mondays?
I didn't but I think Griffin may have. Poor kid has a sad day. Jennifer said he wasn't upset or angry or difficult but sad. When she said they were going inside he gave a little sad pouty face and then when they were ready to go outside for a walk he did the same thing. Hmmm. Just a case of the mondays? Office space anyone? ha. On another note, she got him to eat cooked carrots today. That makes two veggie servings for him this week since he ate broccoli the other night (well, one stem but I watched him actually eat it).
Rash is still here. Uggh! I talked to Pam about it and she said to watch it. Why can't I just feel good? I want more than anything to enjoy this pregnancy and not wish it away since I was so anxious with Griffin I sort of did that. Plus, I don't know if and when I'll be pregnant again ever. But this body of mine just wants me to not be experiencing this. oh well. I don't feel unhealthy just full of complaints.
Work was fine today. I had a bunch of running around to do so not as much WORK got done as I would have liked but I am going to try to be uberproductive tomorrow. Tamara got to work out Sting this a.m. How cool is that? hee. Go Sting, you have a large pee pee. ha ha.

Strange Day
Griffin woke this a.m. at 4. Well, I heard him about 3:45 and I finally realized he wasn't going back to sleep at 4:15. When I went to get him he wasn't really upset but just awake and said "Hi Momma". Aw, how cute? NOT.
So, I stayed up with him until almost 7 a.m. at which point Lee got up. Then around 9 a.m. Lee said he was just acting crazy and tired. I suggested a nap. Then at least we would all be rested. So, we all slept from 9 a.m. until 12:15 p.m.!!
So, now we are just up for our day for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time.....ha.
Only other news is that after eating dinner last night my belly started itching. I looked at it and there is a rash. Sort of looks like a heat rash and itches like a son of a gun. It seemed to not be getting worse through the evening so I just ignored it. At 2 a.m. it woke me up and had spread a little. This a.m. it looks pretty awful but isn't worse from 2 a.m. and hasn't gone anywhere else. I did put some hydrocortisone on it at 4 a.m. when I was awake :)
uggggh, what a strange day already.

So I've been having a lot of work on my body done. massage, chiropractic, massage chiropractic. It is slowly less painful. I am just so used to things going away quickly. I have to remember my pregnant and post partum body isn't always as cooperative. In some ways I"m stronger while pregnant and nursing but achey wise forget about it. :) Oh well, I'm just glad it's going away a little. No more leg cramps since tuesday either but my right calf is STILL sore from that one. It hurts when I walk and stretch but I've been trying to do both a little bit. Ugggh! But overall I'm doing much better.
Yesterday was a strange day. I was EXHAUSTED body wise but mentally I was totally energized and charged from having spent the day before with Griffin. He is such a good boy. Anyhow, I think I must have had a lot of energy to GIVE because 5 of my patients ended up crying on my table yesterday. Some because they were actually discussing something emotional but most just because when I adjusted them they had a very cathartic release. It was cool and odd.
Lee returns this evening. We are going to try for an afternoon date tomorrow to the Cain Park Art Festival. We have tried to go to this every year we've lived here. It's a great showing of art which he enjoys and it's at the park which I enjoy. We are NOT taking the boy...too many breakables and people. I just hope the weather stays nice like it has been. I can't handle the heat too well apparently-see tuesdays cramp post :)
I've been giving a lot of thought to my work schedule post baby and beyond. I think I've actually found something that will work quite well. I'm pretty psyched if it will because that would be a huge stress off my mind. I know we may still need the kinks worked out but just having a plan is better than with Griffin's infancy. I can't go back to that madness. So in the meantime I need to get cracking and get this place back in line so I'm ready for 1) some time off and 2) lack of time to do the "extras". This involves getting Lisa up to speed so she can help me fill in the gaps. She has been really great. I want her to work more! It's a great feeling to have help that you LOVE and know is actually interested, truly, in the place getting bigger and better. K always said that but I often wondered how much she meant it...doesn't matter now if she did or not but just me wondering was a WALL to conquer which doesn't exist with Lisa. I trust her 100% with my biz, myself, my child. She's a dear person in my world.
off to the races....

A new complaint. uggh!
I've been having them for a few weeks but last night the charlie horse I experienced in my right calf was worse than the labor pains I felt with Griffin, I"m NOT KIDDING! It was the middle of the night so I didn't want to scream and I couldn't MOVE. Yowza! It's soooo sore today.
Rib pain still there, not worse but not better and I got adjusted and massaged today. Ugggh, killing me. Overall this baby has been easier on my body but the "aches" are starting sooner. Does that mean they will get worse? I sure hope not. :)

Back from the wedding! Katie is married. For those that don't know Katie she is a long time college friend and also Griffin's godmother! And a terrific godmom she is :) It was a great weekend although it thoroughly exhausted me. I think I went into the trip tired so that didn't help much but then I did a lot of "helping" or as I like to think "paying my stay". ha. I was glad to do it and so happy to be around her during the festivities.
So, back at the grind and all is well. Lee leaves tomorrow for a 3 day trip to Duluth for work. Griffin is home with me tomorrow as Jennifer is taking her daughter up to Michigan I think....so, I'm sure my exhausted state won't be disappearing too soon. ha. I"m trying to get caught up at work and had a very productive day yesterday. I"m hoping to continue the trend and get a lot accomplished the entire week.
Pregnancy wise things are going well. I am feeling baby, mostly hiccups, several times per day which is nice. The left sided rib pain has reappeared from Griffin's pregnancy and I am zoning in on what is the cause. Maybe my bra, maybe my sleeping position, ??? All I know is it hurts and even massage isn't make it release. Uggggh!
We are also almost winning our battle of the yeast rash on Griffin. We have now combined lotrimin (OTC), A & D ointment, and plain yogurt on his diaper at every change. In addition he has a bath of oatmeal, baking soda and apple cider vinegar every night. He smells like an oatmeal cookie salad! lol. Lee thinks I'm nuts but the rash is going away and no doctor visit. Yahoo.
well, off to work work work.

Yesterday was a really hard day. It started out fine I suppose and actually ended fine but it was tough, I was emotional, and it left me exhausted from those emotions. It is mostly rooted in money, my stress, not that we don't have any in theory but that we don't have any at the moment. It's my own fault. I got quite behind on billing not only with insurance but patient statements...so it should resolve if we can make it through the next few weeks. Ugggh. Then I discovered that I sent out soooo many claims last week to find out that they are probably all going to be rejected..so, many more hours spent either on the phone or reprinting...stupid new software. Then my calendar crashed. It hasn't ever done that but somehow when it reopened the new stuff was GONE! fun stuff man. Now the calendar is being completely wonky and it looks like I"m going to have to trash it....more money to spend. I honestly think I"m just going to go back to paper. Ugggh. I don't think Lisa will object.
Lee was great. He is getting or try to understand that I"m just sooo freaking emotional. So, instead of trying to just "fix" things or tell me to "cheer up" he is helping out and just giving me hugs :) It helps to feel like he is "on my side". Today is a new day though and I get to spend the day with my guys!
I think we will go down in a bit to the block party breakfast....yum, donuts!
