Kids playing
Something has changed or maybe it is just this week but my kids have started being friends :) They are playing imagination games and including each other in their play. It is absolutely amazing to hear and see. I would like to think that it is something we are doing right but it is probably just a fluke, right? haha. We have started the obvious change of Lee being at home with them. Also, we began this button reward system that is also working. They decorated little treasure chests and when we deem appropriate they get a button for doing nice things, being cooperative, having a great day, etc. We can also take a button away for the opposite. So far we have only had to threaten taking a button once from Paisley and twice from Griffin. They are really doing so well with it. Time outs have never worked for us and other forms of punishment are just not our style....positive reinforcement is what we have to work with and it is working!

I noticed that behavior too! Nothing cuter than the two of them dressed in their newly acquired costumes, playing with the new dinosaurs- Griffin explaining all about T-Rex to P and she nodding and saying "Yas" and "OK". I will put my pics and short movies up soon.
so what happens when they get a ton of button's just wondering. We have done a reward basket. Seems to work most of the time
They get to pick out a toy at the $1 store or go for a treat with the family, donuts or ice cream. Since we are on a major budget these days those kinds of adventures are not happening so we want to encourage cooperation for them. They are really doing well. It is exciting to see. Griffin misses his friends though :(
